
WEEK 5 IRONMAN TRAINING
February 10, 2008Well training has up a tad… Got my new programme for the next 3 weeks & it’s looked very daunting but with one week into it, it went no bother.. Monday was again rest day thank God as i was still shattered from the rugby at the weekend. Tuesday is now my a long run day.. Went home from work on Tuesday & the weather was brilliant so i decided to sit down for a wee while & go out in about an hours time.. Well that hour went quickly as i fell asleep & when i woke up it was starting to piss rain.. So on with the gear & out ionto the rain & it was not so bad.. Got soaked but felt great & did 13k in 1hr 10mins so very happy with that.. Wednesday is now swim day so met Mark in the pool for a late session & we did some drills & then 16 100’s of 1.20 & then a warm down so all in all we did 3100m.
Thursday is short run day & pool session. 8 k ran in 44 mins & then straight into the pool for 1500m. Friday was core work day & a small swim 800m overall done. On Saturday when i woke up the weather was fab & went on my long bike ride & did 103k in 4hr’s with Mark & keith & felt great after. Sunday was another long bike day & did the same 103k in 4 hr’s so overall a great weeks training done.. Rest day tomorrow Thank God… Ok off to watch the Rugby highlights… Eddie O’Sullivan what are you doing…..!!!!!
