About Me

Hi i’m Derek McCabe. I’m 37 years of age & live in Tallaght with my Fiancee Leila Giglione. I’m not sure about this whole blog thing but at least i’ll be able to keep an account on what i’ll be doing for the next few months between IRONMAN Frankfurt & my up coming WEDDING not sure which is more daunting… Anyway here is a little about myself. I played rugby for 22 years & had to retire due to a knee injury. I started my rugby in De La Salle Churchtown & had a great few years there. Hated school but loved the rugby. On leaving school i joined St. Mary’s College RFC & had a great time there winning 9 cups & leagues. Anyway i was just pottering about training with no real incentive until someone mentioned to me about doing a Triathlon. So did it, loved it, Wanted More, & here i am embarking on the hardest thing i’m ever going to do….. IRONMAN FRANKFURT 2008… Derek
